  We put the purifier on continually for 4 or 5 days. Which was as long as we could stand the chemical plastic odour that it omitted.We had it situated in the bedroom and naturally closed all the windows so it could do its job properly. The odour brought about a level of wheeziness for me not dissimilar to the effects of rapeseed in full attack in the fields backing on to my property. My wife who does not suffer any allergy was unable to sleep because of the odour and her throat became irritated. After that I ascertained the odour was from the paper filter and placed it outside for a day or two hoping for it to dissipate. It did not. I was unable to google anybody else having the same experience. I am very disappointed with the purifier because with the paper filter removed ( Why would I put it back in ) it is now effectively a large and expensive fan.- Steve, Hereford
