Not only is breaking a limb painful, it’s pretty inconvenient. On leaving the hospital fitted with a cast, it’s common to find the lack of mobility fairly difficult to come to terms with. Traditionally a cast prohibits so many day to day activities that we take for granted; showering, bathing, washing hands or doing the washing up all become more difficult when you’ve got a cast on your arm, for example. If a cast gets wet, it can cause itchiness and emit a smell, so keeping it dry is critical.
